FALL IN CRUDE OIL PRICE :KGHA COMMENCES REVIEW OF 2020 BUDGET

The kogi state house of assembly has commenced the review of the approved twenty twenty budget of over one hundred and seventy six billion naira in view of the short fall in the price crude oil.

This followed a receipt of a correspondence sent by the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to the assembly.

Reading the correspondence, at plenary, the Speaker, Prince Mathew Kolawole said that the governor had requested the house to review downward the twenty twenty approved budget from over one hundred and seventy six billion naira to over one hundred and two billion naira in view of the current economic challenges caused by coronavirus pandemic.

The speaker who then asked the clerk of the house, Isah Ibrahim Amoka to give the proposed budget first reading committed it to the house joint committee on budget and finance and appropriation.

Prince Kolawole directed the committee to report back to the house within two days.

Similar the house also received for consideration and passage a total of over thirty two billion naira as twenty twenty proposed budget for the twenty one council areas of kogi state.

The Speaker who received the correspondence from the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Salami Ozigi committed the proposed budget to the house joint committee on budget and finance and appropriation.
