President  Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reopening of schools for students in graduating classes.

According to a statement by Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, monitored on his twitter handle @toluogunlesi on Monday, the President gave the approval based on the recommendation of the Presidential Task Force on COVID19.

He explained that after due consultations with the #PTF, President Buhari approved the recommendation to enable students in the final years of their studies prepare for their exams.

Those affected by the approval are graduating students in classes Primary 6, Junior Secondary 3, and Senior Secondary 3.

The statement further directed that all Daycare & Primary schools shall remain closed until further evaluations, except for Common Entrance pupils.

It maintained that Secondary & Tertiary Schools shall continue to remain closed until further notice.

He said arrangements would be made for exiting JS3 & SS3 students to resume as soon as possible for preparation for exams.

Similarly, President Buhari has also approved the reopening of domestic aviation services.

The statement however said that the exercise would be done
“as soon as practicable”.

The President also lifted the Interstate lockdown with effect from July 1, 2020. Only outside
