The EYC new Executives taking oath

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharmacist Jamiu Asuku has charged youth across the state to be committed in the pursuant of brighter future and be a driving force for positive change in the society.

Speaking in Okene , Kogi State during the inauguration of Comrade Obiyo Ateiza Aliyu as the seventh President-General of Ebira Youth Congress, Asuku said youth who are the leaders of tomorrow need to brace up and be committed to their lawful activities to serve as the mirror image of the society.

While charging the new executives of the EYC to redouble their effort in ensuring that the mission and vision of the congress are achieved, the Chief of Staff assured that the struggle of the youth in the state can never be in vain.

He commended the previous leadership of EYC for their commitment and zeal in fighting for the rights of the people of Kogi central senatorial district, promising to support the new exco to succeed in the onerous task ahead of them.

In his speech the inaugurated President-General , Comrade Obiyo Ateiza Aliyu assured that his exco will build on the lagacy of the past leaderships of the congress to achieve it mission and vision for the people of Kogi central .

Aliyu added that the congress would embarked on mobilization and sensitization at the grassroot to enable people feel the presence of Ebira Youth Congress.

While calling on youth in the district to devote their time and energy on education, the President-General also advised youth who may not have the oppourtunity to pursue education to acquire skills that can be their sources of livihood in the future.

“We must find something to do as youth, indolence is not good for us. If you can not acquire education as a result of poor financial background, it become very imperative to acquire skill that will give you job especially now that Ajaokuta steel company is about to be revitalize for operationalization.

“I am also cautioning the youth against indulging in social vices that are inimical to their future” he said.

Other members of the exco inaugurated are , Comrade Sule Suberu as Deputy President-General, Peter Omuya Aliyu as Secretary General, Michael Sule as Director of Audit, Abdulsalam Idowu as Director of Protocol, Salamatu Ibrahim as the Treasurer, Tijani Momohjimoh as Financial Secretary among others.
