*KOGI YOUTH SUMMIT:* Kogi Commissioner Charges youths on Innovation, Skills acquisition.

The Kogi State Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Idris Musa (Danjuma Oando) has admonished Kogi youths on the need for improvement of skills. The Commissioner made this known today while addressing participants of the organised Kogi Youth Summit in commemoration of this year’s International Youth Day of August 12th, at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.

Speaking at the summit tagged, “Youth Engagement for Global Action”, Hon. Idris who felicitated with youths across the globe, however, said
the youths must now understand that Education is beyond going to the classroom to learn, but to translate garnered information and idea into solving societal problems via innovations.
He urged the youths to add more value to their certificates by improving on their skills to solving societal problems, stressing by this they would be positively impacting the society.

Hon. Idris in his remark commended the unwavering vision, support and contributions of the youthful Governor, his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello to the growth and development of youths in the State via his policies and programs as witnessed in the last few years of his administration.
He expressed satisfaction with the leadership of Actionaide Team, (PIBCID) for their collaboration with the Youth Ministry on this year’s event, while admonishing youths to shun all form of social vices, but engage their selves skillfully as future leaders.

Some of the dignitaries at the summit were SSA to the Governor of Cross River State, and Former Nigerian Presidential Candidate, Mr Emmanuel Etim, Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Idachaba, Kogi State Head of Service ablely represented, Permanent Secretaries, NYCN, Kogi State Chapter, Youth groups, amongst other social organizations.
