Pa Agiddi lived a fulfilled life … Son

The late Pa Samuel Agiddi is described as a father who lived a fulfilled life worth emulating. We the children and relations will greatly miss his fatherly guidance and advice.

Speaking during the funeral ceremony of the late Pa Agiddi at the Anglican Cathedral in Okene in Kogi State, one of the children of the deceased, Dr David Agiddi, said over ten years ago after his father retired from the military, he returned back home to Okene and reconnected with the Anglican Church to continue the work of God and service to humanity.
“To us he departed this world very early because we still need him. He is a man of advice and a man of knowledge who always encouraged and bring the best out of people.

“He trained us properly and we will continue with the legacy he left behind so that we can be more prosperous and achieve all that he desired for the family” he stated.
Speaking further Dr David said “My father is a younger cousin to Bishop Haruna and when the Bishop died my father assumed the patriarch position as the father of the entire family. The Bishop was father to all and his light radiates to many around him and hence the reason we all attained the level we are today” .
Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Onsachi of the Anglican Diocese Okene in his sermon also described the late Pa Agiddi as a committed Christian who devoted most of his time to worship God, referring to him as a mirror image of his cousin Bishop Haruna in terms of worship and closeness to God.

“Pa Agiddi was always punctual to church and always the first in the church during morning devotion that clearly depicts his military training of upholding the tenets of punctuality and keeping to time”.
Narrating Pa Agiddi’s commitment to the Anglican Church, Rt. Rev. Onsachi revealed that when the church wanted a land to build a church and primary school as part of the diocese of Anglican church in Oguda community in Okene local government, Pa Agiddi was contacted and without delay facilitated the land for the church.
“This is one of the many things he has done for this diocese and we can not forget him in a hurry because definitely this church will miss him” he said.

Reading from the Bible 2Corinthian chapter 5 verse 7, the clergyman urged Christians to have faith in God in order to enjoy salvation, saying that through faith a lot of success can be achieved.
He cautioned the children of Pa Agiddi to emulate their father in the area of upholding faith which their father was known for, noting that if they continue with their father’s ways of life they will never go astray, but rather be blessed abundantly.
He charged them not to be afraid of tomorrow, saying God will be in control as long as they have faith in God.
