Assembly Election : Hon. Akande express gratitude to Gov Bello for his support
The lawmaker representing Ogori – Magongo state constituency at Kogi State House of Assembly Hon. Moses Oke Akande has expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of the state Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his support that catapulted him to the state House of Assembly.
Akande who stated this on Sunday at St Patricks Catholic Church magongo during a thanksgiving ceremony he organised to appreciate God Almighty for giving him and his family sound health through out the year , said Governor Yahaya Bello , a man who does not believe in tribalism catapult me first to the position of Administrator of my local government and later supported him to where he is today.
Speaking on the thanksgiving , Hon. Akande said that the prayer has become imperative and necessary considering the favour bestowed on him by God.
According to him “I have reasons to thank God for giving me and my entire household sound health through out the year. No record of death, no accident of any type that is contrary to the will of God in my family.
“Secondly, I organised this prayer to thank God for my victory in the last House of Assembly election because I have never envisage to be member of the Assembly, but God used His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello , a man who does not believe in tribalism to catapult me first to the position of Administrator of my local government and later supported me to where I am today.
“The Governor did not know me or know any of my family members but lifted me up without asking who is my father or which family do I belong to. Therefore I organised this prayer to thank God and as well thank and appreciate our governor for finding me worthy to represent Ogori Magongo people at the state house of Assembly and I promised the governor that I will not disappoint him” he said
While urging the people of Ogori -Magongo to give unalloyed support to the governor in his second term, the lawmaker assured that the challenges of roads and erosion in the communities will be addressed by the governor, saying what is needed is cooperation and unity of purpose to achieve the feat.
He however sued for unity among the people of Ogori-Magongo in order to pave room for more development.
The Rev father of the church Francis Ododo praised Hon Moses for his contribution to the church and pray to God to use him as the Moses in the Bible for Ogori /Magongo.
Rev. Father Ododo charged Christians to be closer to God at all time in order to enjoy God favour.
