Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has produced an Anticoronavirus hand sanitizer to contain the spread Coronavirus currently ravaging the world.
In a statement, Public Relations Officer of the instruction, Mr. Ajibola Jimoh, said the sanitizer was presented to the state Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi who is the chairman of the Kwara state Taskforce on Corona.
According to the statement, Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and technology, Alhaja Saadatu Modibo Kawu, also witnessed the presentation at the State House, Ilorin.
A lecturer at the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Mr O. E. Adeyemo, said Kwara State Polytechnic designed the anti Coronavirus sanitizer when it was discovered that some in circulation do not comply with specified standard of the World Health Oganisation.
The elated Deputy Governor and the Commissioner were full of praises to the Polytechnic for the timely intervention at this crucial time.
They therefore, appealed to other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the laudable gesture.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Engineer Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, explained that the institution would not relent in assisting governments at all levels to curtail the spread of the killer virus.
