2016 – 2022: THE SUCCESS STORY AND TASKS BEFORE US
Today 1st January 2022 marks the beginning of new calendar year, also makes it almost six years I was elected to represent the good people of Ankpa 1 state constituency. Conscious of the responsibility of my office, i had no doubt the task ahead would require more of your support and prayers. You’ve always been there for and I’m using this medium to thank you all.
As we begin again, another calendar year, I wish to reaffirm that the social contract I have, is a covenant between me and God, on one part. And on the other part, to serve Him and reciprocate His faithfulness through the journey so far by being a tool to bring the greatest good to the people of Ankpa One Constituency.
In consonance with our promises to remain committed to our 6 core areas of focus, we have diligently, sincerely and in good conscience touched the major areas which includes; Effective Legislation and representation, Skill acquisitions/Youths Empowerment, Provision of Basic social amenities, Education and Social Services, Etc. We will continue to make the interests of the people the core of representation, and not to betray their trust and mandate and build collectively with the people, an enduring future for our constituency and dear State.
I have sponsored very important bills which has today become a law in KOGI State – First in history. I have moved several motions which the resolutions are transmitted to our young and dynamic Governor and it’s given consideration and speedy implementation. I flagged off the biggest water project cut across fifty communities in Ankpa 1 constituency.
Through our Education Support scheme, we flagged “Back to School” with loads of scholarship benefits to constituents from Primary to tertiary institutions. Worried by homeless state of persons with disabilities in Ankpa LGA, we were able to build a befitting and comfortable houses for them. We have built classrooms for Government Schools in Abache, Ochinobi, Emekutu, Supply classroom chairs, office tables and chairs to schools, writing materials to students, Etc.
We flagged off a skill acquisition program in various categories; Tailoring, ICT, Plumbing, Soap making, Event Management, Etc and upon completion we supported the beneficiaries with start ups. They are being monitored and making progress. Also, I have over fifty Son’s and Daughters of my constituency on monthly payment directly from my office. Many youths have gain employment into the civil service (Federal and State) level. And all these are documented and shall be made public if need arises.
We have supported our royal father’s and traditional institutions, religious leaders and stakeholders where necessary. And of course their advices and guidance has been a strong factor for our success. Recently, the palace of HRH the Onu of Ankpa was given a befitting look, and I will continue to ensure a mutually-beneficial relationship between myself and these very important institutions
Let me acknowledge the trust and confidence that the good people of Ankpa 1 constituency have continued to repose in me. It is a great honour and privilege. More importantly, it is an opportunity for me to show the world the capability to serve our people with utmost honesty and transparency.
As I look forward to more of your support, cooperation and collaboration this year, I end on a note of hope, like Nelson Mandela quote thus; “The task at hand will not be easy, but you have mandated us to change from a land in which the majority lived with little hope, to one in which they can live and work with dignity, with a sense of self-esteem and confidence in the future. This is my assurance to you – my people.
