A NEW YEAR, A FRESH START
A new year is always the beginning of a new journey, a chance to make amends and start again on a different trajectory. The year 2021 has been, for many, a continuation of the many challenges encountered in 2020, which was significantly as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and its untoward consequences on businesses and the economy as a whole. Of course, with many of our compatriots struggling to get by, it can be tough to expect a certain level of optimism regarding the future of our country.
However, there is always a power of fresh start that each new year brings with it. And this is why each and everyone of us must never allow whatever hardships we may be facing to define us, either as individuals or as a nation.
Yes, this year may have tested many of us in ways that may be absolutely impossible to imagine. But despite it all, we have continue to see how some of our compatriots, especially in the armed forces, have stepped up to face our common enemies and bring peace to this land. As a grateful people and nation, we must continue to applaud the sacrifices of our gallant men and women in uniform, and continue to honor their devotion to this country.
The government of President Muhammadu Buhari has no doubt kept faith with the Nigerian people, especially with policies and Interventions aimed at cushioning economic hardships, and with support for the armed forces to be able to push back those who have continue to challenge our strong will as a people and our resolve to live in peace, harmony and tranquility. To loose faith in our government is to give the enemies of this country the undeserved strength to dishonor the symbol of our sovereignty. We must therefore continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari to continue to try and do his best for Nigeria.
While welcoming you all, fellow compatriots, to the year 2022; I enjoy you to open your minds to the abundant possibilities entrench in this land and to renew your belief that our best days as a country are near.
