ActionAid Nigeria Commends Kogi Govt, Assembly for VAPP Bill Passage.
Action Aid Nigeria has commended Kogi state government and the State House of Assembly for the passage of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Bill in the state.
This commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Human Rights Manager of ActionAid Nigeria, Nkechi Omekedo which was made available to newsmen in Lokoja Thursday .
She congratulated the people of Kogi State and media professionals for their effort and contribution that led to the success of the bill.
Mrs Omekedo who expressed the hope that the bill will translate to real outcome for the people of the state especially women and girls including vulnerable population in the state ,promised to work with other stakeholders for the implementation of the bill.
Also speaking, the Resilience Programme Coordinator of ActionAid Nigeria, Mr Anicetus Atakpu described the feat as another milestone for the upliftment of women and girls from all forms of violence in Kogi State.
Anicetus promised to further assist to sustain ActionAid Nigeria efforts to strengthen community resilience on prevention of violence against women and girls.
