Recently in Okene ,a bustling town in Kogi State played host to several public figures who came from far and near to grace a spectacular award ceremony where a foremost sport guru, analyst and administrator, Mr. Oseborega Abdulraheem Adepoju was presented with gold medal award for his milestone achievements in sport development in Kogi State and Nigeria in general. Hundreds of his well-wishers, family members and friends across Kogi State made it to Okene to witness this very important award presented to him by a forerunner sport promoter, the JB and Goodest Group of Companies.

At a colourful event, the organization thanked Mr. Adepoju for his unrelenting efforts in helping to groom the Nigerian youths for their future sustainability through sports. The organization appreciated him for changing the face of sport across Kogi Central and advised him to sustain such tempo in sport development in Kogi State. Below are some terrific feats so far achieved by the Ogori-born sports administrator, Mr. Oseborega Abdulraheen Adepoju as a sport legend: Mr. Adepoju graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he studied Physical and Health Education. In 2017, he was made the Director of Sports, Kogi State Teaching Service Commission, Lokoja, the position he held till his retirement from service in 2018.Outside the classroom, Mr. Adepoju served as course facilitator in PHE (National Teachers Institute/NCE/DLS in 2003 and beyond. He is the physical Fitness Instructor for Man O’ War at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp at Asanya-Kabba, Kogi State. He is also a sport co-coordinator of Ogori Development Union (ODU).

As a result of his wide experience in sporting activities, Mr. Adepoju was brought in as physical fitness instructor with TAO FM radio station in 2004 and in 2015 he became TAO FM radio sports programme presenter on Saturdays. Mr. Adepoju for long has demonstrated his strong love for sport right from the time he was in primary school, he was the hockey, volleyball and school relay captain at Basawa Teacher’s College, Zaria; hockey and relay team captain at College of Education, Ilorin as well as co-coordinator, Man O’ War in the same institution. He was the coach, Hustler Handball Club, Okene (1987-1990). Mr Adepoju is the Area Commander of Man O’ War for Kogi Central between 2004 till date and also doubles as its Secretary General for Kogi Command.Mr. Adepoju is a recipient of several awards including medals and certificates especially during his days as a sport star in schools and colleges. He attended many conferences, workshops and seminars on sport administration within and outside Kogi State. He has presented well researched paper works at various conferences and workshops as a sport administrator.Meanwhile, the Editor-in-Chief of the Reflection on-line news, Mr. Felix Udebu has sent his congratulatory message to the recipient of the award Mr. Adepoju and urged him to keep the flag flying across the State.
