Alhaji Alhassan turban as new Eleson of Felele

His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulkareem Alhassan has been turbaned as the new Eleson of Felele having unanimously been appointed and supported by the people of the community.

He was turbaned by Chief Imam of Oworo land  Alhaji Ibrahim Denja Ademo at a colourful ceremony attended by many prominent sons and daughters of Felele community. The turning of Alhaji Alhassan as the Eleson of Felele by the Chief Imam of Oworo was the eleventh turbaing activities carried out by the Chief Imam.

It was evidently clear that the same Chief Imam also performed the turbaning of His Royal Highness Mallam Mohammed Adogba Baiyerohi , The Olu of Oworo land during his coronation as the monarch of the land.

Alhaji Abdulkareem Alhassan was appointed as the Eleson of felele due to his past antecedent as a peace maker and a man who has the love of his people at heart.

He is also known to be a man of good character and integrity and his appointment and turbaning followed due process as it was duly approved by the Chairman of Lokoja traditional council His Royal Highness the Maigarin of Lokoja Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi III.

The new Eleson of Felele is a descendant of Felele Obah Isegba, Felele Oworo in Lokoja local government area of Kogi State.

Born in 1951 into the family of Baba Hassan and Halimat, the new Eleson of Felele is a member of Felele Obah Isegba Ruling House

Felele community since time immemorial has been ruled by prominent personalities ranging from Chief Baba Bonjo, Chief Baba Ehaka , Chief Baba Odi , Chief Baba Atakanch, Baba Obehaha, the Eleson of Felele- Late Alhasan Ski a non indegine , Shaba of Felele – Late Alhaji Mahmud Abdulkadir and now the newly appointed Eleson of Felele – Alhaji Abdulkareem Alhassan.

Felele is a community with decent history. The community was located near a river called Obah , with the first settler identified as Baba Bonjo a great hunter , warrior and a farmer of high repute.

Baba Bonjo hunted round the area and settled on the plateau. During his farming activities and hunting adventure, he named so many part of his land such as Mawogi, Akpata, Oburutu (in crusher) in the present day Felele due to different activities go in those areas.

During his life time Baba Bonjo lived a life devoid of crises as he was married with many children and other family members.
