AN HINDSIGHT OF TINUBU PRESIDENCY FOR KOGI STATE
Born March 29th, 1952 in Lagos. Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a nationalist and an astute politician that has been in the circles of politics since the transition from military regime to democratic government in Nigeria. Having served for eight years as the executive Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, he still remain relevant in the political space of Nigeria today. He is the most influential politician among the 1999 political class which earned him the rank of national leader of the APC.
TINUBU AND KOGI STATE.
It was in 2011 that Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu developed strong interest to safeguarding the political atmosphere of Kogi State and bring development to the state. He did this when he thrown his heavy weight of support behind Late Prince Abubakar Audu under the defunct ACTION CONGRESS OF NIGERIA (ACN). It was a strenuous opposition stand that we witnessed in Kogi state for the first time as ACN took to the stage with also the likes of Governor Babatunde Fashola, Fayemi, Ajimobi and other influential politicians from South West. At this time, Tinubu political wings have spread across South Western Nigeria and in North central, his interest was on Kogi State.
In 2015 Governorship election in Kogi State, he thrown his support for Prince Abubakar Audu under the newly amalgamated political party known today as the All Progressive Congress (APC). At this point, his political strenuousity for Kogi state became more determined when he brought Kogi born Lagos politician and a House of Representatives Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke deputised the candidacy of late Prince Abubakar Audu. For the first under the support of Tinubu seeing Late Prince Abubakari Audu winning an election again since his exist from office in 2003 but unfortunately, he died a day after the conduct of the election but before the result that was declared inconclusive.
THE NEED FOR KOGI PEOPLE TO SUPPORT TINUBU PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION.
Since 2011 Tinubu political family had develop political interest in the State, this interest is to help the State develop and build a strong economic power, Kogi state is the only State in Nigeria that is bordered by nine (9) states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The outstanding performance of Late Prince Abubakar Audu endeared him to Jagaban for support. Tinubu’s leadership style, political antecedents and his previous interest in Kogi state will bring unprecedented development to the state. His presidency will bring good leadership to the State and fastening development in area of infrastructures and social amenities that will rise Kogi state to the level of Federal Capital Territory.
MR QUALITY.
Look back on the quality of leaders he has produced since 1999 till date? Those leaders have performed excellently in the various offices they occupied or served in Nigeria. He has numerous of them who brought development and economic emancipation in one way or the other to Nigeria.
Kogi State full support for tinubu will bring those unprecedented developments.
