Deputy leader, Kabba-Bunu Legislative Council empowers widows and Vulnerables
High Chief Smart Adekunle, the Deputy Leader of Kabba-Bunu Legislative Council today empowered widows and vulnerables in his Odolu Ward Kabba.
While talking with our source, Hon. Smart Adekunle said that Losing a husband or a partner can be an incredibly saddening experience. But for too many women around the world, becoming a widow can also be the beginning of a whole new set of problems and hardships.
“Women are faced with sudden urgent fears of providing for the family. Difficulties of how they can afford to eat, or pay rent, or keep their children in school not only add to the emotional toll but also drastically change their lives” he said.
“We are starting with this but this will be a continuous event. When a widow is empowered, all her children and other dependants are empowered too” he also observed.
Over 60 widows and vulnerables in his Ward , Odolu Ward Kabba benefited from this gesture.
One of the beneficiaries of the empowerment, who spoke on behalf of others thanked Hon Smart Adekunle for the kind gesture towards them and their family.
In her words of prayer said that God will continue to remember him for his concern for Windows especially as it is a Biblical injunction.
She also prayed that God will fulfill all his aspirations in the future and that the widows will continue to pray for him.
As a mark of honour, the event was held at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Odolu Community, Kabba, Oba Oba Joseph Oshatuyi.
The paramount ruler in his response stated that the community will continue to be proud of the performances of Hon Smart Adekunle and for this, the community is thankful to God for giving them a representative, who will always look back to remember and be concerned about the welfare of his people.
