Ex-Kogi Guber Aspirant, Dr Ajakpo Dies at 70.

Former governorship aspirant in Kogi State and renowned medical expert and founder /Chief Executive Officer of Sauki Private Hospital Abuja, Dr Godwin Ajakpo is dead..

Aged 70, Dr Ajakpo, a staunch member of Cathedral Church of Advent of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Abuja, board member of management Advent Cable Network Nigeria Television (ACNNTV )
passed on in the early hours of Friday 18 December 2020 during a brief illness.

Family sources said that the news of death of the Galadima of Lokoja has been communicated to the Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion and Metropolitan Bishop, the Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba.

Bishop Ndukuba in a reaction expressed his grief over Dr Ajakpo’s death but gave praises to God that he lived his life serving God till the end.

The Primate said it was as if Ajakpo had premonition about his death when he met him few weeks ago to plead for a low key 70th birthday celebration.

Primate Ndukuba prayed for his soul to rest in peace and that God should console his wife and members of his family in this hour of grief.

In his own message , the immediate past Primate of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion Most Revd Nicholas Okoh said the death was “Mostly regretted adding that Ajakpo was a child of God to the core,

He prayed his soul to rest In peace and God to comfort the bereaved family.

The Chairman of the Board of Management ACNNTV, Sir Folu Olamiti in his message said: “We have lost a brother and dependable frien noting that his valuable and intelligent contributions at board meetings will be sorely missed.

Olamiti, a one time Editor of the Nigerian Tribune newspaper, Ibadan, Oyo state prayed his soul to find eternal rest”.

Dr Peter Nmadu’s condolence message through the board Chairman ACNNTV said:
“We are all shocked by the passing away of our dear brother and colleague.May the Lord comfort us all and Grant his soul eternal rest Amen”

Vice Chairman ACNNTV board Bishop Blessing Enyindah in his own reaction said “This is the most shocking news of the year. We were all praying for his recovery and prayed his soul to rest in peace.”

Dr Ajakpo was 70 years on 11 December 2020.

During his lifetime, Ajakpo who was one of the forces that fought for creation of Kogi State was a devoted Christian and a teacher of the word through some of his inspiring sermons.

He won souls into God’s kingdom as well as saving lives medically.

The family said funeral arrangements would be announced later.
