The Chairman House Committee on Information in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Bode Ogunmola has assured Kogites of good and effective representation from the current lawmakers in the State.
Fielding questions from Assembly Correspondents in Lokoja , the Lawmaker who is currently representing Ogori/Magongo State Constituency in the House,said that the current Assembly will bring governance down to the grassroots through their oversight functions.
Ogunmola, who was a one time Commissioner for information in the State hinted that, his committee will continue to engage the media to report the activities of the Assembly so as to get feedbacks from those they are serving.
He commended the Speaker of the House, Rt .Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf for the opportunity given to him to serve in the committee, stressing that, with his wealth of experience in the media space, Kogi State House of Assembly will be projected positively.
Ogunmola, however, appealed to the forth estate of the realm to collaborate with the House so that together they can deliver the dividend of democracy to the People of State.
” My job is very simple,it is to give you first hand information about the activities of the House of Assembly. I don’t tell lies. Whatever,I tell you is the truth and nothing but the truth” Ogunmola assures.
Meanwhile, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon. Bode Ogunmola has debunked the insinuation that the circumstances that led to the suspension of the Chairman of Ibaji Local Government Council, Hon.William Iko-Ojo was politically motivated.
“The life of an individual is involved here. In this situation, the Chairman should come and tell us what happened. If you are elected to work for your people, you are supposed to do it within the ambit of the law. If as Chairman, people died in an unclear circumstance in your domain then, something is wrong” he said.
