Ayo Adun’s Foundation (AAF), has granted scholarship to ten Widow’s Children in Kogi state throughout the duration of their studies from Nursery to Primary education level.
The foundation also donated food items and wears such as bags of rice, gari, spaghetti, golden penny noodles, satchets of tomatoes, clothes and foot wears.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Pastor Mrs Mercy Ayo Adun while speaking during the presentation of the items held at the premises of the Millennium Christian Ministry in Lokoja, over the weekend, said that the gesture under the Widow’s Outreach of the Foundation is aimed at improving upon the living condition of the less privileged in the society.
She reiterated the commitment of her Foundation to continue to reach out to the poor and the vulnerable to enhance their living standard.
Pastor Mrs. MercyeAdun said that aside offering scholarship to the widow’s children, the Foundation is also into other ventures that will benefit the needy like skills acquisition scheme, financial empowerment, sharing of gift items and motivational talk.
She charged widows across the country to embrace hardwork and dedication to their spiritual callings as a way of complementing assistance from God, organisations and individuals.
The Chief Executive Officer also challenged widows not to relent in the proper upbringing of their children whom their deceased husbands left under their care.
“Strive to give your children good moral attitude, sound spiritual upbringing with the fear of God and above all, tailor them towards shunning evil and embarking on criminal acts” Pastor Mrs Mercy Ayo Adun admonished the widows.
Highpoint of the programme, was a motivational talk on encouraging the widows to embrace God, hardwork and deciplinary acumen to overcome the heat occasioned by the departure of their husbands and be ready to carry their cross.
