The National President, National Association of Kogi State Students, Comr. Rachael Mojirola Balogun visits the management of Federal University Lokoja with regards to the alleged hike in school fees of the high ranking institution.

The National President had received the news of increase in school fees on the 30th August,2021 and immediately reached out to the management in her usual proactive manners.

Upon her visit to the management on the 31st of August 2021, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi who spoke on behalf of the entire school management present at the meeting said that there were no increase of school fees. He stated that it was only the acceptance fee that was hiked. Acceptance fees are like post UTME charges which is not constant, in other words, they are subject to change depending on the cost of carrying out designated activities. He clarified.

The National President with the state Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Comrade Ogohi, in company of the outgoing SUG President of the school who also doubled as the National Association of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Committee Chairman (Nans Jcc), Comr. Olorunmagba Kehinde, the SUG President, Comr. Ufedo Promise, thanked the management for disappointing rumor mongers. She urged the management not to allow issues of school fees hike to cause disaffection between the management and the students.
After the meeting the National President, Youth Council Chairman of the state and other students leaders joined the Vice Chancellor on inspection of construction projects going on in the University permarnet site (felele campus).
The President offered the management the assurance of her willingness to cooperate and furge profitable partnership and relationship that will strengthen the already established bond between NAKOSS and the tertiary institution, with the management as they work round the clock for the development and growth of the institution.
