

*Governor Yahaya Bello is committed to the construction of Kabba/Oke-Offin/Olle/iluke road*

The State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Navy commander Duro Jerry Omodara (Rtd) has reinstated the commitment of Kogi State Government led by Alh. Yahaya Bello to construct the Kabba/ Oke-Offin/Olle/iluke road,. He said the Governor is passonate to ensure the road is constructed as it has been formally presented to the State Executive Council but for the poucity of fund . He assurred that the road will receive attention in due course.
Commander Omodara made the statement at the official handing over of the National president of Oke-Offin Development Association after 15years of meritorious service to Oke offin Community at the Annual General Meeting of the Association on 26th December 2021.
He said the Government is committed also to the completion of the Community Primary Health Center under construction.
In his valedictory speech, Omodara thanked everyone for standing by him during his tenure, which made him to have some modest achievement including connecting Oke offin to national grid , facilitated boreholes and personally constructed one. He thanked the Governor of Kogi State for the grading of the Oluwoa of Oke offin to 3rd class in 2019.
He said his greatest achievement is the unity of purpose in the community as well as increase in youth enrollment in higher institution especially female. He said said several of them he personally bought JAMB Form for,paid their school fees while several were empowered. According to him,he was happy that he identified the huge potential of Akofirin which was celebrated in December 2018.
Jerry noted that his recorded achievements could not have been without the support of his executive members. The unity of Oke-Offin has remained untouched under his leadership.
The Oluwoa of Oke Offin, Oba James Ayinmode eulogies the leadership quality of Commander Jerry Omodara especially at uniting the community and his drive for infrastructural development for oke ofin. He prayed for God to guide him in future endeavors and urged him to continue to make indelible contributions to the development of Oke offin in particular and Bunu in general.
In his acceptance speech,the new National President , Mr Elijah Olorunsua said it is difficult to step in the shoes of Commander Omodara. He said his focus is to build the foundation laid by past Executives but will also concentrate on education and vocational training for youth of the community as well as ensure the unity of the Community.
Other activities at the Annual General Meeting include cultural performances by various groups.
