Hurrah!, Hajiya Maryam Usman Ibrahim is a year older today. The beauty of celebrating a birthday is that it affords one an opportunity not only to balance the present and past but, most importantly to acknowledge the divine hands of the Almighty God that have guided you thus far in the journey of life.
Who is Hajiya Maryam Usman Ibrahim ? Maryam is a native of Ogori in Kogi State, Nigeria. She attended Kofar Dan-Agundi Special Primary School Kano, Kano State and she later proceeded to Women Teachers’ College, also in Kano. In 2009, Hajiya Ibrahim enrolled for her National Certificate in Education (NCE) at the National Teacher Institute, Study Centre in Kogi State and graduated in 2012. Her strong desire to improve on her academic prowess made her to seek for admission as a student at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, where she obtained her Bachelor degree in Education.
She further took some positive steps to earn some additional qualifications that would make her versatile in many areas of human endeavour. She obtained the following additional qualifications: Diploma in Data Processing, Advance Diploma in Data Processing amongst others. Though trained as a teacher, Hajiya Yahaya veered into other areas to make a living. Currently, she owns Al-Mahmed Business Venture and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of all its subsidiaries such as Al- Mahmed Business Centre; Al-Mahmed Supermarket and Al-Mahmed Unisex Salon.
She is the founder Al-Mahmed a non-governmental organization for the Eradication of Female Child Labour and Trafficking.
In 2013, Hajiya Ibrahim was appointed by His Excellency, Captain Idris Wada, the then Executive Governor of Kogi State as Special Assistant on HYPPERDIC a job she performed so well to the admiration of Kogites.
Hajiya is a multi-award winner. She is a woman full of positive ideas and visions. She is honest and full of virtues. She is caring and compassionate. She is strongly dedicated to things of God and she is an advocate of selfless service to the people. She is a good listener, motivator, philanthropist and has quick ability to learn and adapt to new situation.
