Kogi state house of assembly has commended the Governor Yahaya Bello for his proactive approach to preventing coronavirus in the state.
The commendation followed a motion of urgent public importance sponsored on the floor of the house by Muktar Bajeh representing Okehi state constituency on the need to appreciate the governor for the proactive steps so far taking to prevent covid-19 from entering the state.
The lawmakers applauded the governor for the early sensitisation of the people of the state in different languages, closure of schools and ban on social gatherings and worship centres.
They called on well to do individuals from the state to support the government by providing palliatives to ease the sufferings of the people as a result of the pandemic.
The Speaker how ever in his ruling set up a six member house committee to be headed by the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Mohammed to work with the state ministry of health and the state squadron committee on covid-19 to prevent the spread of the virus.
