The recent financial support given by Hon. Joseph Leke Abejide to parents from Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency to settle the West African Examination (WAEC) fees for their students in public Senior Secondary Schools has come at the right time for the indigent parents who are mostly peasant farmers, some of them are on percentage salary payment for the last eight years or thereabout, many of them that have retired are unable to receive their pensions or gratuities and many are jobless. No one expected such huge support from any quarters a year ago, but God has used no other person than Hon. Abejide to alleviate the sufferings of our people. Truly speaking, all parents have been relieved of the task of looking for money to settle their wards’ examination fees.
I want to use this medium to appreciate Hon. 
Abejide from Yagba federal constituency for this historic kind gesture towards my community, Iffe-Ijumu, Ijumu L.G.A. and Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency for this special intervention despite that the donor not coming from this constituency, God almighty will reward him abundantly. The last time our students enjoyed this type of benefit from the state government was way back to 2015 or thereabout, thank you indeed sir.
To us in this part of the world, Abejide’s good decision to assist the students has awaken the political consciousness of our people, who have now realized that any candidate that will seek for their votes must be ready to serve them and not those who will abandon them after receiving their votes. Abejide has set a template for leadership position in Kogi West and the entire Kogi State.
We are proud of Hon. Abejide’s achievements in his Yagba federal constituency, achievements that transcend religion, dialect, culture, age and gender. We appreciate his good works despite strong opposition mounted by some handful evil minded individuals and agents of the State to abort, obstruct and frustrate the payment of 2023 WAEC fees in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu axis using social media and other crooked means, but God didn’t allow them to succeed. It has been alleged very recently that sinister move is been made to derail the election of Hon. Abejide by his detractors who are scare of his landslide victory in the 25th February general elections. These detractors want to silence him and his supporters possibly to create inconclusive election in Yagba federal constituency. Will this work for the detractors? My answer is NO! because the good people of Kogi West are more articulated, enlightened and broad-minded than what they envisaged. Abejide’s electoral victory is beyond ADC, PDP or APC, he has worked hard to win the minds of his people through his various socio-economic interventions. Please get me clear, Hon. Abejide is not in this contest as an individual, the people of Yagba federal constituency are more than ready to continue to support him. All those behind the evil plan of creating artificial hurdles for him should rethink because the Okun people are strongly determined to protect their votes, they are not ready to be dictated to on who to vote for. Imposition of candidates will not work in Okunland again. Our people have suffered enough in the last couple of years as a result of imposition of candidates on them. Okun people will meet these agents of evil with their voter’s cards at the poll to tell them to bury their faces in shame.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s candidate for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency, Arc. Salman Idris must right now under study and key in to the philosophy and principles of Abejide and follow his beautiful footsteps as soon as he is elected on 25th February, 2023. Arc. Salman should be rest assured that our federal constituency will entrust all our votes on him.
HON. JOSEPH LEKE ABEJIDE DESERVES YOUR VOTE AGAIN
Warren Bennis has described leadership as the capacity to translate vision into reality; while General Montgomery states that leadership is the capacity and the will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character which inspires confidence. In the view of Austrian-American management consultant, educator, and author, Peter Drucker, “leadership is lifting a person’s vision to high sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations. The above leadership quotes are just to corroborate the fact that Hon. Joseph Leke Abejide just perfectly fits into the responsibility thrust upon him by the Almighty God and the constituents.
In very recent years, Nigerians have become more agitated and much concerned with the many complexities associated with governance. Today, leadership roles are increasingly in the public domain and since important questions concerning its role and performance in Nigeria have been raised, the general public and the entire academic community have shown an intense on who should lead. Sociologists as well as political scientists have begun to view the issue of leadership as a subject for serious study. Nigerians are asking questions as to why much progress had not been made since the nation’s independence. The readily made answer is that there is strong leadership vacuum and hence, the development in all sectors has become a mirage. Leadership failure has been the bane of many African countries, but in recent years, there is a loud call for a paradigm shift and Hon. Abejide has joined the queue for this call.
Now that the general election is a couple of days away, there is the urgent need for the good people of Yagba federal constituency to recognize the fact that they need someone or a leader who is strongly determined to rewrite their ugly past story for good, a leader who will listen to them and who will address their challenges.
Yagba federal constituency deserves to have proactive, bold, courageous, agile, intellectual mobile, kind nationalistic forward- looking personality and a leader like Abejide to lead them again to the next level. He will use all these superlative attributes to re-construct, rework and re-engineer the urgent socio- economic development of the area and to consolidate on what he has achieved in the last four years or thereabout for the people of the federal constituency.
Hon Leke Abejide has local, cosmopolitan, national and global views on critical issues, he will take a cursor look again on matters of serious concern to the constituency if graciously re-elected to the green chamber of the national assembly in next month’s general elections.
The people of Yagba do not need expired ideas or individuals that are clueless and are already tired to lead the way or occupy the exalted seat f the House of Representatives because they are doomed to draw back crucial development in the area. The people of the constituency are already tired of them.
One thing is very sure, Leke will listen to the electorate, not minding the age, sex, status, creed or tribe. Let us team up together and give him all the votes to change the old, nasty and evil narrative of the past and move along with Leke of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
