Hon Osewu lauds Gov Bello for elevating Gegu Baki traditional stool to second class status
Hon. Zakari Osewu Mohammed a former House of Assembly member in Kogi state has lauded the state governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for elevating the traditional ruler of Gegu Beki Alhaji Mohammed Abba Alhassan to second class chief.
Speaking shortly after the pronouncement of the elevation of the stool by Governor Yahaya Bello at Gegu Beki on Sunday, the former lawmaker expressed his unalloyed appreciation to the governor describing him as a man who always keep to his words.
According to him “When some time ago His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello promised to elevate our traditional ruler from third class to second class chief we thought that such promise can never see the light of the day, but today Governor Bello has proved many people wrong by not only fulfilling the promise, but also assured that security of life and property of the people of Gegu Beki will be giving maximum attention.
“I will continue to refer to the governor as ‘Okasime’ which means a man of his words. We really appreciated the governor for putting smile on the faces of Gegu Beki people”
Speaking further, Hon. Mohammed commended the traditional council of Gegu Beki for bestowing the title of ‘Omeiza Obanyi’ of Gegu on Governor Yahaya Bello who has done a lot for the kingdom.
“I am not surprise that the governor was conferred with the traditional title of Omeiza Obanyi of Gegu Beki because he is a leader who believe in the unity and peaceful coexistence of his people” the former law maker said.
Hon. Mohammed however thank God almighty that Engr. Abubakar Bashir Baki the current Commissioner for Solid Mineral continue from where he stop as one of the political leader of Gegu Baki, urging the commissioner to consider the traditional title of Dan Masini of Gegu bestowed on him as a challenge to do more for the people of the area and indeed Kogi state in general.
“I am grateful to God that Engr. Bashir is following my footsteps in ensuring that Gegu Baki get the dividend of democracy” he stated.
