Hon. Sam Olawumi Jacob is a man specially made by God and presented to mankind mostly to the good people of Mopamuro Local Government Area and Kogi State in general, to help them to progress and develop in all ramifications. Right from when he was a teen, Hon. Olawumi has shown several leadership traits that have today distinguished him in all human life among his peers. Without a doubt, he is one of the brightest minds within the Kogi State House of Assembly, he is a handsome, intelligent and hardworking legislator. He is a social and political reformer and a certified accountant as well as a philanthropist and a friend to the poor, he is always passionate about addressing the plights of the people around him.
Hon. Jacob hails from Okeagi in Mopamuro Local Government area of Kogi State. He attended Kogi State University Anyigba, where he studied accounting. He worked at the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) after completing his National Youth Service Corps in Kaduna State between 2011 and 2012. He has worked in several other places including Kogi State Internal Revenue Service from where he joined politics. He contested for the Kogi State House of Assembly in 2023 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and he won squarely.
The success story of Hon. Olawumi did not start today, he has been around for some time to contribute to the well-being of the needy both within and outside his local government area of Mopamuro. He grew up in a family setting where love, compassion, hard-work, commitment and dedication are highly upheld. He comes from a well -respected and cultured family, his strict upbringing helped him to succeed in life.
Hon. Olawumi has always desired a better life for his people and the human society in general. He has demonstrated this in the lives of the indigents, youths, artisans, widows and in communities over the years.
His vision is to make Mopamuro Local Government Area a reference point to other local government areas of Kogi State, make life best for the people and create infrastructure for the future for his constituents anchored on fairness and justice. Reading between his lips, Hon. Olawumi has promised to further promote peace and unity in his constituency, Kogi State and Nigeria at large, eliminate poverty, wants and ignorance, promote active participation of the people in all strategic sectors, work towards rural integration, supply electricity, supply water and provide an improved educational environment. Hon. Olawumi is expected in the nearest future during his tenure in office as a legislator to empower the orphans, widows, artisans and the youths, he is to blaze a trail of success in his capacity as a legislator in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
Presently, he is calling on the good people of Mopamuro State Constituency of all shades of opinions and political lineages to join him in working towards a robust political revitalization and re-awakening of Mopamuro LGA. To him, the people’s ultimate goal no matter where they stand on the political spectrum is the social economic and political uplift and well-being of the people that matter most to him.
His intention to be in the Kogi State House of Assembly is not a desperate quest for enrichment, a superfluous chase after self-aggrandizement, a quixotic adventurism on the podium of our national politics, no, but rather, he is genuinely inspired to serve the people of Mopamuro LGA and Kogi State in general. He has joined politics in order to use it as a bigger platform to solve myriads of human challenges.
Hon. Olawumi who is the Chairman House Committee on Finance and Budget who has set up achievable goals for himself in order to impact meaningfully on his constituency. His hallmark is to serve his people.
There are many things you cannot take away for Hon. Olawumi, he is man full of positive ideas, vision and virtues. He is a refined gentleman, who is always working hard to be the best in whatever role given to him to play. He enjoys creating wealth and always encourages others to get themselves devoted to whatever profession they find themselves. He is truly fired up by the possibility as well as the enterprise nature of the people of his constituency. He relates to people as if he had known them all their lives. Whatever anyone may feel towards Hon. Olawumi, no one is likely to accuse him of a lack of competence towards the task of developing Mopamuro State Constituency. If anything, his critics are more likely to charge him for being too workaholic and committed to national development through good governance and representation at the Kogi State House of Assembly. His superlative attributes have endeared him to the youths, women and the indigents.
Currently, Hon. Sam Olawumi, the chairman Kogi State House of Assembly Committee on Appropriation, Economic planning and Budget Monitoring, he is the House Committee Vice Chairman on Finance and Economic planning, 
Vice Chairman Justice and Judiciary, also he is a member Public Accounts, member Commerce and Industry, Local Government Administration and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as a member Education, Science and Technology, in all these, 
Hon. Olawumi has not been found wanting.
