The 22nd day in the month of November of every year will always be remembered in the life of Hon. Otayitie Akerejola Eminefo, a politician and philanthropist as he marks another year today on the planet earth. Today is an occasion for him to thank God for His provision, protection, kindness and support since his stepping on the planet. Whatever he has achieved throughout his life is from God only. He has contributed in his own little way to the development of his community, Ogori, Kogi state and Nigeria.
For many who may not know him, here is a run-down of his bio-sketch and other details about him.
Hon. Otayitie Akerejola Eminefo is a straight forward politician and patriot
He is a brilliant economist and straight forward politician. He is a native of Ogori, in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State. He is a holder of Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, and a proud holder of a masters degree in Financial Economics.
When His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello came to power in 2016, he appointed Hon. Otayitie as a Special Adviser on Energy and Mineral Resources. His responsibility then was to advise the governor on energy related matters and tapping into the abundant mineral resources across Kogi State for the maximum use of the people of the state.
Hon. Otayitie was also responsible to create a congenial environment to attract private investors to the state to explore and exploit the state mineral resources for the benefit of the people of Kogi State.
For his brilliant performance, the governor got him re-appointed as Special Adviser on Energy and Power, here too, he displayed total dedication, dexterity, honesty and professionalism at his new assignment to the admiration of His Excellency and the good people of Kogi State. So far, so good, Hon. Otayitie has made every Ogorian man or woman proud.
On several occasions, he has represented the state governor at different events, he has handled, acted, coordinated, liaised and facilitated several assignments on behalf of the Kogi State Government on energy, mineral resources and power. Space will not permit me to list some of his activities as a Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kogi State but then, it must be noted clearly that; he facilitated and managed all external relationships on Energy and Mineral Resources matters, chaired or deputized for the governor on any committee on Energy and Mineral Resources and collated available data or information on the Mineral Resources of the state.
This young and energetic man has achieved several milestones in the office placed on his shoulders through dint of hard-work. Some of his achievements are the setting up of Kogi Electricity Complaint Centre; developed the Bello Rural Electrification System (Solar home system), proposed the electrification of Kogi State Secretariat Complex, proposed the establishment of an Energy unit in the office of the Governor, construction of solar power street lights in Lokoja, purchased the electrical testing equipment among several others.
Equally, Hon. Otayitie had served in different committees set up the state government such as committees on Kogi Investment summit, Job Creation and youth Engagement, Finance and Internally Generated Revenue, Infrastructure and Utility Kogi State Economic and Investment Team, Board of Confluence Power Limited etc.
Hon. Otayitie belongs to some professional bodies. He has attended several workshops and seminars within and outside Kogi State, he attended a seminar on potentials of Renewable Energy at the German Embassy in Abuja in 2007 and a workshop on Mining Special Purpose Vehicle in 2016.
He is an individual with a great zeal and consummate dexterity, a progressive and receptive gentleman. He has uncontrollable passion for Ogori. He will never be satisfied until the best is achieved for his community, Ogori. He always looks out for opportunities to encourage the youths to bring out the best in them and he works hard to help them accomplish their golden dreams.
At community level, Otayitie proposed and ensured the Government Electrification of Ogori was achieved. He influenced the construction of Ogori/Magongo township road.
He also assisted some members of his constituents with the payment of their medical bills in hospitals, facilitated employment opportunities for the youths and sponsored the payment of school fees for all SS3 students in the local government area. With all these, Hon. Otayitie Akerejola Eminefo is eminently qualified to be addressed as a great patriot of Ogori land.
He is happily married.
