Iyodina Eyisinayo III tasks parents , guardians on values, etiquettes of female child.
The Iyodina (Eyisinayo III) of Ogoriland Chief Mrs Oluwatoyin Oluwawemimo Iyela has called on parents to inculcate values, religion and etiquettes into their wards in order to prevent them against the current societal immortality that are inimical to their future.
Mrs Iyela who was recently coronated as one of the chiefs in the community made the call at Ogori civic centre in Ogori-Magongo local government during the annual Ovia Osese festival said parents and guardians have a significant roles to play in the lives of their children.
According to her, for a young girl (Ivia) to transit into womanhood , parents and guardians need to inculcate values and etiquettes that will prepare them to be a woman that will be cherished by the society.
While calling on parents and guardians to intensify effort in girls child education, the newly coronated Iyaodina (Eyisinayo III), advised that the girls should also be exposed to skill acquisition to complement the certificate they acquired from western education.
“More values should be added to the transition of girls into womanhood. Parents should check the cooking skill, conduct and etiquette of their children to ensure that they are ready for the transition into womanhood.
“There are so much immorality in the society today parents should protect and guide the children against the social vices” She said.
She however urged Ogori Descendants Union the organizers of the annual event to involved the media, corporate organisations and the government in order to uplift the festival to boost the economy of Ogori community and by extension Kogi state government.
She congratulated the Ivia for making their parents proud saying “we are all rooting for you as you embrace life as a woman”
