
Kilani Lay Bills On Waste Management And Promotion Of Tourism In Kogi State.

Member Representing Ijumu Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. (Amb.) Kilani Olusola Olumo on Thursday during plenary in Lokoja laid two different Bills on Waste Management, and Promotion of Tourism in Kogi State.
The title of the Bills reads: Kogi State Waste Management Bill, 2020; and A Bill For A Law To Contribute To The Promotion Of Tourism By Creating An Environment For The Regulation And Development Of Tourism Sector And For Other Matters Connected Therewith, 2020.
The Kogi State Waste Management Bill in its different parts, chapters and clauses seeks to regulate management of wastes, prescribe offences relating to waste, prescribe waste management operations, regulates dumping and incineration of waste at the River Niger, bye law for community involvement in waste management and other matters connected therewith.
The Tourism Promotion Bill seeks to establish Kogi State Tourism Promotion Commission, establish Local Government Tourism Committee, classification of Tourism Businesses, establish Tourism and Hotel Inspectorate Division and other Inspectors as deem fit by the Commission and other matters connected therewith.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Prince) M.O. Kolawole while reading the introduction parts of the Bills, stated that the Bills will have multiple advantages of job creation and expanding the economies of the State.
