Kogi Assembly Calls for Rehabilitation of Hassan Katsina Road
Kogi State Government has been called upon to urgently rehabilitate the Hassan Katsina road which is currently in a deplorable condition.
The Zone eight Confluence Stadium, House of Assembly and Crusher road is popularly called the Hassan Katsina road.
The road which has essential State and Federal offices is presently in a bad condition and that is why the member representing Yagba East, Alhaji Jimoh Musa moved a motion of urgent public importance, calling on the state government to reconstruct the road.
The lawmaker appealed to the State Government to direct the Ministry of Works to also reinstall the street lights on the road.
Seconding the Motion, the member representing Bassa Constituency, Mr. Ranyi
Daniya said the road currently deserve government attention.
In their Contributions, the Majority Leader, Abdullahi Bello, member representing Omala, Prince Collins Musa and his Ijumu Constituency counterpart, Kilani Olumo emphasized the need to stop heavy duty vehicles from plying the road.
The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole in his ruling directed the House Joint Committees on Works, Judiciary and Justice to present a bill before the House to stop heavy duty vehicles from using the road.
Prince Kolawole who commended the state government for the ongoing rehabilitation of roads as well as the Flyover in Ganaja Junction, said the Assembly road has been included in the current road reconstruction in Lokoja.
