Kogi Assembly Passes Confidence Vote On Governor Bello

Kogi State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his effort at providing infrastructure and security in the State.

This followed a motion moved by the member representing Lokoja 1 Constituency, Alhaji Tenimu Isah during resumption of Plenary on Tuesday.

Alhaji Tenimu said Lokoja the State Capital is currently wearing a new look with the Construction of President Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, ongoing Ganaja junction fly over as well as rehabilitation of Lokoja Township Roads.

According to him, the Governor is also rehabilitating roads at the grassroots which he explained is first of its kind and and display of capacity to provide the development that the people are yearning for.

The Lawmaker maintained that the present administration in the state has also provided open governance, Transparency, accountability and sustainability programme in line with global standard.

He however appealed for the rehabilitation of the Cinema Junction-Lokoja Club- Mount Patti Road which according to him need Government attention.

Seconding the motion, the member representing Dekina/Biraidu Constituency, Mr. Moses Ododo thanked Governor Bello for the road rehabilitation projects across the state especially that of Igala land.

The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole said the motion was timely in view of the attention the present Administration has given to the upliftment if the State Infrastructure.

Prince Kolawole had earlier charged members to be alive to their legislative duty upon resumption from recess and commended them as well as staffers for their cooperation.

Meanwhile, a bill for a law to repeal and the Kogi State Public Private Partnership Law, 2014 and to enact the establishment of Kogi State Investment Promotion Agency 2022 has been passed into law.

This followed the clause by clause consideration at the committee of the whole house.
