Kogi State Government has provided additional 65 vehicles across the 21 Local Government to curb insecurities across the State.
The Director General, Kogi State Special Task Force on illegal smuggling of fire arms and other related offences Elder Friday Sani Makama disclosed while addressing newsmen in Lokoja on Friday.
He warned that those procuring arms, ammunitions, recruiting machineries, illegal military, Police, Civil Defence to Kogi State with the intention of causing violence to desist from it, noting that, anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.
Makama said the present administration under Governor Yahaya Bello has put all necessary measures to checkmate illegal smuggling of fire arms, areas of buffers zones, as all checkpoints across the State had since been identified.
“Nobody would come into Kogi State illegally with the aim of causing violence that will go Scot free. Kogi State can never be a safe haven for criminal element before, during and after the forthcoming election. That is the more reason the present administration remains committed in protecting lives and properties of it’s citizenry” he stated.
The Task Force Director General however, thanked Governor Bello for priotizing security in Kogi State stressing that, under his leadership, Kogites have continued to sleep with their two eyes closed.
