The member representing Lokoja 1 Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, has commended Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi IV as the new Maigari of Lokoja.
Tijjani gave the commendations during the house plenary Session held in Lokoja on Thursday.
The lawmaker who appreciated the present administration for appointing the new Maigari, applauded the Kingmakers for the successful turbaning of the new Monarch noted that, his constituents and the entire People of Kogi State will forever be grateful to the Governor for strengthening the traditional institutions.

According to him,:”Governor Yahaya Bello has demonstrated that he is a leader of capacity who is determined to sustain the existing traditional mapping in our cultural history. The appointment and turbaning of the new Maigari of Lokoja is historic. The Governor with his eagle eyes of bringing development to our locality appointed Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi IV, as our new Monarch.
This is someone who is tested, trusted and is committed to taking our people to the promise land. On behalf of me, my family and my constituents, we are saying a big thank you to the best Governor we have ever produced in Kogi State for making us witness this historic event in life.

The highly elated lawmaker who also appreciated his colleagues for coming out in their large numbers to attend the turbaning ceremony of the new Monarch further thanked the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Aliyu Umar Yusuf for his exemplary leadership style in the eight assembly and prayed that: “may Almighty Allah in His infinite mercies continue to strengthen the assembly to make laws that will be of immense benefits to the entire People of Kogi State”
It could be recalled that Alhaji Kabir was turbaned as the Seventh Maigari of Lokoja, by the Kingmakers led by Talban Lakwaja, Rtd Air Marshall Ndatsu umaru, which was witnessed by Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban.
He took over from Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III who died in September 2022 at the age of 80.
