Kogi Lost Sport icon Williams Olobayo Aisoni.

Kogi State and Nigeria at large have lost a great sport man in person of Williams Olobayo Aisoni.

He died after a brief illness. He hailed from Ogori,In Ogori/MagongoLocal Government of  Kogi State.
Williams was a very good sport man he started displaying his talent right from his secondary school days when he represented Kwara State as a decathlon in most interstate competitions.

He also proved himself as a good volley baller. At a time he played in the Nigeria football league he played for Oshogbo NEPA and also Plateau United. From there he was picked for camping for World Cup at the Green Eagles squared which he never played for reasons he was asked to bench Okocha.

He left the camp and was picked to play in Italy that is how his foreign football occupation started …after some years he left Italy and went to Greece he came back to Nigeria to nurse an ankle injury after a year he was back on his feet and this time to Portugal it was then he can back to Nigeria.

During his time abroad he had taken a lot of football talent abroad how ever Willy picked up the name Willy Van Aisoni which means Williams son of Aisoni …..back in Nigeria he trained people and teams like the NYSC football group creating talent for a lot of teams…. Williams was a member of Kogi Football Association, All Star Football.. Kogi Volleyball Club and so many.

He is the head of sport department for AISONIS until his death he was an active worker and loved to do the right thing.
