
Kogi Need More Teachers-STETCOM Chairman
The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Science and Technical Education Commission STETCOM, Mrs. Cecilia Cook says there is urgent need for recruitment of teachers in Kogi Secondary schools.
Mrs. Cook stated this during the Commission’s budget defence before the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology.
She said as at last year, the total number of teaching and non teaching staff in secondary schools is five thousand, one hundred and fifty which according to her has reduced to four thousand, six hundred and nine as at last month.
The Executive Chairman also stressed the need to improve the condition of Laboratories and libraries in secondary schools.
Mrs. Cook told the House Committee that the Commission lacks vehicles for effective monitoring.
She commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his commitment to the growth of education sector.
