Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of Justice Henry Olusiyi and Justice John Bayo Olusegun as the substantive Chief Judge Kogi State and President of the State Customary Court of Appeal respectively.
After the demise of former Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Nasir Ajanah and the President of the State President of Customary, Justice Shuiabu Atadoga, Governor Yahaya Bello appointed Justice Henry Olusiyi and Justice John Bayo Olusegun to replace them in acting capacity.
Their confirmations followed a letter by Governor Yahaya Bello to the House after their recommendation by the National Judicial Council.
The nominees after giving a little background about themselves were asked to take a bow and go.
Speaking with Newsmen shortly after his confirmation the Chief Judge, Justice Olusiyi
promised to ensure quick dispensation of Justice as and when due.
He expressed gratitude to God, Governor Yahaya Bello and the Assembly for the confidence reposed in him.
The House also confirmed the appointment of Mr. Abdulwahab Abuh as permanent Commissioner, Kogi State Contributory Pension Commission following his nomination by the Governor.
Similarly, the newly elected member representing Ibaji State Constituency in the just concluded bye-election, Mr. Atule Egbunu has been sworn in.
Mr Atule said he would work with other lawmakers to bring development to ibaji constituency.
Mr. Atule is replacing Elder John Abah who died recently.
The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole congratulated Mr. Atule Egbunu on his victory and wished him a successful tenure.
