Dr. IDRIS OMEDE, the Deputy Governorship candidate to Elder leke Abejide, for kogi state governorship election coming up in November, and under African Democratic Congress (ADC), reiterated his beliefs, together with Elder Leke Abejide, in kogi state as an agenda.
Dr. Idris omede stated this while answering a question on the weekly interactive questions and answers section on a group chat established on social media by RENEW KOGI WITH LEKE/OMEDE SUPPORT GROUP. According to him, they believe in kogi state as an agenda because it belongs to all the constituent members of the state. Kogi East where he comes from is a member, so anyone from the constituent members have a right to aspire to be anything within the scheme of things. He argued that, no unit within the constituting zones can do it alone.
Dr. Omede stated further, that, aspirants from either of these zone can visit any of the zones to look for votes, and it’s now left for the people to vote for the person of their choice. According to him, winning an election have a lot of technicalities which shall be put to use, even within kogi East, a zone from which he comes from.
On the chance of his party, ADC in kogi East and central, he believes, their chances are bright. According to him, for the party to have emerged second during the last election with two members of house of representatives, and a member for house of assembly, it shows the level of the party acceptability. Hence, a template is being drawn to build on the victory, particularly in the Eastern and Central zones of the state.
Answering questions as regards the current water shortage in lokoja metropolis, Dr. Omede wondered why the greater lokoja water works built by former Gov. Ibro is not being ran effectively to take advantage of the geographical location of the metropolis with the confluence River. Water, he said, is life, so they will make sure the state water board lives up to their responsibility if elected.
When asked if their government will adapt the personal program of Elder Leke Abejide as regards WAEC fees payment, Dr. Omede assured that, it will be made a state government policy to help lessened the burden of not only WAEC fees, but other related financial burdens on parents across the State.
Dr. IDRIS OMEDE, wondered why certain individuals that are threatened by the great in roads being made into the state political activities are muting the idea of Elder Leke Abejide stepping down. This, he argued, is not true and will never be true, as arrangement are on to come out with a bang when the campaign council will be made known. He assured members and supporters of Elder Leke Abejide and himself to go about their campaign and contact activities as they have the full support of the leadership, and no one should be scared of any intimidation as the law is there to take it’s course.
