MY TRIBUTE TO MAMA AJOKE GRACE JEGEDE ODAIBO
Growing up in Ogori was truly fun, educating and wonderful.
they formed my very formative years, it couldn’t have been better without Knowing Mama.
Mama was mother to everyone that she came across, Her house was a house for all.
She took care of us all as her son,
Mama did not only looked after her Biological children, she was a mother to everyone of us no matter where you are from, this is the attribute that we can see in all her children.
Mama Ajoke was a Princess, she came from the Clan of Royalty that we referred to in our local parlance as Ibin negben.
Mama was a true daughter of the Soil, One of the very last of her generation.
Ogori Migrated from Agada Hills.
The wars made our forefathers settled on top of these hillsl, Mama was not part of that generation but was a bridge between that generation and the one after her.
She was one of the few left that could still give us the Oral history of the life of the early settlers on top Agada hill.
Today we are mourning the passage of this great Mother, Great great grand mother, daughter of our land, for sure Okpa, Ogori and the entire Omole, Daomi and Aisoni family will miss her.
Her good works are on the Marble.
She has laid her mark on the sand of time.
We only Can wish her a safe passage to the great beyond.
just like we say it in our local tongue,
Tigure Iya Oboro
Osibina etei wurun Aronmuro
Eshino Ajobe.
