No Absenteeism in the Kogi State House of Assembly – House Committee Chairman Information Clears Air.

The House Committee Chairman on Information, Strategy and Publicity in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Jimoh has debunked the news that was blogged yesterday by some online bloggers which was titled ‘Absenteeism of Lawmakers worries the Speaker’, stressing that such did not transpire on the floor.

He said contrary to the news that went viral on the subject matter, that the members of the assembly are not the lazy type rather, they are more committed to their constitutional duties of making laws to promote good governance for the State.

He further explained that the speaker was only re-emphasizing the need for all members that attend executive session to always as a point of duty attend the plenary session as the standing order of the Kogi State House of Assembly, prohibits such behavior.

He said it is a fallacy for anyone to insinuate that there is crisis in the house, noting that the Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole, is more united in supporting the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to deliver the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

He said the 7th assembly is very resolute in seeing to the realization of the Presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello come 2023, noting that those writing to incite the public against the Assembly are only wasting their time.

Hon. Musa Jimoh said the members that were not present at the yesterday plenary session were on constituency assignments at various locations, noting that no member can be or HAS BEEN found wanting in this regards.

He enjoined the general public to disregard such misleading news items, pointing that the Assembly is more focused for the overall development of the state.
