Oba Mike Yusuf Hails the Appointment of Chief George Funsho Ojo as Kogi SIEC Commissioner
The Obadofin of Oweland in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, His Royal Highness, Oba Mike Yusuf has hailed the appointment of one of his subjects Chief George Funsho Ojo as permanent member/commissioner in the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission by Governor Yahaya Bello.
The highly elated royal father gave the commendation yesterday at the Thanksgiving Service in honor of the commissioner held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Odolu, Kabba, according to him, it is a thing of joy for him to see one of his own to have been elevated to a high office in the state.
He said the community is indeed glad to see the caliber of Chief George Funsho Ojo to have been given such a responsibility to serve, praying that God will grant him wisdom, knowledge, understanding and good health to carry out his assignment without any blemish.
He urged those who may not be happy with his appointment to calm down as it is only God that enthroned human being then He so desired, prayed that God will comfort the person he replaced.
He said the community will continue to cooperate and support Governor Yahaya Bello led administration in the state, thanking him for the massive infrastructural development going on in the state and Kabba township in particular.
The royal father said this will be the first time in many decades that Kabba township roads will witness total overhauling for the benefit of the people.
He commended the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.(Prince) Matthew Kolawole for providing purposeful representation to the constituency at the state, urging him to continue in the light while charging the newly appointed SIEC member to see his appointment as opportunity to serve not to boastful to the authority.
