President Muhammad Buhari has appointed Jide Adeola as the Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services and Administration of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Corporation.
Adeola is an Indigene of Kogi State, from Isanlu in Yagba East Local government area.
In a statement issued by the special adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the appointment is in accordance with the power vested in President Muhammadu Buhari under Section 59(2) of the Petroleum Industry Act he signed on August 16, 2021.
Until his appointment, Mr.Adeola was a partner and Executive Director, Energies, Utilities and Mining at Price Water House Coopers (PwC), where he develops and drives PwC industry strategy for ,oil and gas,power sector, utilities and renewable.
Due to his vastness and wealth of experience in the power sector as a transformation leader, commercial negotiations leader, business developer, assurance director amongst others, he supported the Light-Up Lagos Project in 2015.
He has worked in partnership with the
Nigerian International Petroleum Summit (NIPS), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), amongst others.
He is a graduate of Biochemistry from the University of Lagos, he proceeded to Warwick Business School, United Kingdom where he obtained his Masters in Business Administration.
Mr. Adeola is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
According to Adesina, the Board’s Chairman is Margery Okadigbo(South East); Chief Executive Officer,Mele Kyati; and Chief Financial Officer, Umar Ajiya.
Other Board Members are Dr Tajudeen Umar ( North Central), Mohammed Lawal ( North West), Lami Ahmed (North Central), Henry Obih ( South East), Constance Marshal ( South-South), and Chief Pius Akinyelure (South West). Other Executive Commissioners of The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission include; Executive Commissioner, Development and Production, Dr Nuhu Habib (Kano); Executive Commissioner, Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning, Dr Kelechi Ofoegbu (Imo); Executive Commissioner Health, Safety, Environment and Community, Captain Tonlagha John ( Delta).
