Senator Joseph Obasaju’s Corpse Received in Kabba
Ahead of the burial program of Senator Joseph Funsho Obasaju scheduled to hold tomorrow, his corpse has been received by the Central Working Committee led by Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero and Pastor Ben Abereoran who represented the Kabba Development Union and Okun Development Association respectively.
The occasion was put together to welcome the Distinguished Senator who truly provided quality representation at the highest level when he served at both the Kwara State House of Assembly and Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between 1979 and 1983.
Engr. Ajibero commended those who took out time to join the convoy while they make their way to Kabba from Ilorin and those who have contributed in no small measure to the overall success of the epoch making event, stressing that the program for today and tomorrow will be hitch free as all arrangements have been put in place to make all guest comfortable during the event.
While speaking on behalf of the Okun Development Association, Pastor Abereoran said the death of Senator Joseph Obasaju has further reinforced the desired unity in Okun land.
He urged all and sundry to see his departure to rekindle the unity of purpose that will drive progress and development, noting that it is time for the Okun nation to always speak with one voice on all issues.
Reacting to the historic welcome, the first daughter of the Senator, Mrs Josephine Obasaju was full of praises to the people of Okun land for the love and honor given to her father despite the fact that he is no more, praying that God shall continue to bless everyone that has contributed to the success of the program.
However the Christian Wake will come up today, Thursday 15th April at his Kabba residence by 4pm while the Funeral Service will take place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kabba, Kogi State by 10am, reception follows immediately at the St. Augustine College Field, Kabba
