Senator Oseni begins construction of ultra-modern ICT centre in Ogaminana
Kogi Central Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT/Cybercrime has began the construction of ultra-modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre in Ebira Community Secondary School(ECSS), Ogaminana.
Though situated in Ebira Community Secondary School Ogaminana in Adavi Local Government Area, the lawmaker emphasized that the project when completed will not only serve the school but has the capacity to serve the entire local government and beyond.
Senator Oseni further disclosed that he has taken proactive step to solve anticipated issue of power challenge at the ICT centre by providing solar power facilities for the benefit of the centre and its immediate environment.
“In no distance time, before the last quarter of this year precisely, similar ICT centre will be constructed in few schools across the five local government areas of Kogi Central. My intention is to drastically reduce number of jobless youths by engaging them in creative venture for self-reliance. With this, the effort of Kogi State government at decimating criminalities across Kogi Central and the entire state would be complemented”, he said.
The lawmaker in his unwavering desires to improve learning conditions in his constituency disclosed that he had earlier sent emissaries to go round the five local government areas and take stock of dilapidated schools for necessary rehabilitation.
“I am not unaware of the dilapidated nature of our schools structures. My men have gone round the five local government areas and took pictures of the structures and the schools. I have expeditiously presented their reports to the relevant Commission and had series of meetings with the Head of the commission. I can assure you that our case is receiving a very positive attention”, the lawmaker assured.
In the same vein, Senator Oseni reveald that he has acquired land for building of standard skills acquisition centre to serve the entire Kogi Central and even beyond. According to him, the measurements of the land has been taken and approved in the recently revised national budget.
While expressing optimism that work will soon commence on the sight, the lawmaker hinted that the skill acquisition centre will provide services like tailoring, carpentry, tiling, shoe making, hair dressing and barbing, soap making, vehicle repairing and volcanising and ICT training.
Senator Oseni assured his constituents that there are plethora of projects and empowerment schemes which will be unfolded in phases as soon as the economy gets resuscitated from the pandemic.
