Senator Oseni congratulates elected Chairmen, commends KOSIEC for credible processes
As the newly elected Local Government chairmen are inaugurated today, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT/Cybercrime, Senator Yakubu Oseni has sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who emerged victoriously in the polls.
He equally eulogized Governor Yahaya Bello for provision of optimum security which led to the unprecedented peaceful poll and commended Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) for its transparency and professionalism.
This was contained in a message signed by the lawmaker where he enthused that the landslide victory of the APC across the 21 Local Government Areas was a crystal confirmation that Kogi State is an APC state.
Senator Oseni who praised the elected Chairmen for their issue-based campaigns all through the electioneering period said democracy has undoubtedly been deeply entrenched in the state with the conduct of the people and officials of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) who discharged their duties professionally.
The lawmaker who expressed optimism that the Executive Chairmen and councillors would justify the confidence reposed in them also congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello for providing a level playing ground for all the political parties that took part in the election.
“Local Government administration is the closest to the people. This proximity reinforces its importance and we thank God that the people at the grassroots have made their choices in a very resounding manner.
”As you are officially inaugurated as Executive Chairmen, I urge you all to hit the ground running and complement the effort of our ever-determined and young Governor to reposition and set the state on the path of sustainable socioeconomic development”, the statement reads in part.
