The Acting Spiritual Father and Chairman Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Prophet Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo, has admonished Nigerians, particularly Christians as they celebrate Christmas, to be moderate in their spending, while spending quality time to appreciate God for His love and protection.
Prophet Alogbo gave the admonition in his Christmas message to Nigerians issued at the Church International Headquarters, Galilee Orile-Igbon Oyo State, saying “as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, I call on the people of Nigeria to appreciate God for His divine mercy, protection and grace to be alive to witness the year 2023 Christmas celebration”.
The Spiritual Father said: “Not by our might, but His grace and benevolence has made us to survive the trying period of this year coupled with the removal of fuel subsidy, which raised the standard of living beyond human comprehension. The Bible is so clear that in all circumstances, thank God for His blessings and provisions. That we are still alive to witness another Christmas celebration is all praise to the most High God despite the various turbulence.
“Christmas period is a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, our saviour who came over two thousand years ago to redeem and salvage mankind from destruction and sin. No doubt, it is a period to merrymaking and celebration, but I like to however urge members of the fold of the need to renew their faith and commitment to God the creator of mankind.
“That Jesus Christ was born in a manger was a pointer to His humility, let us be humble, embrace righteousness and be ready to assist and give to the less privileged.
“This is a period to show love, perseverance and commitment to spread the gospel with our actions and behaviours. Let us exhibit good character and be accommodating among others as these traits and attributes will attract people to the light.”
The Spiritual Father stressed that: “As a body, let us continue to pray for our leaders in all sectors, the Nation and the entire World for peace to reign. The development of the Church is in our hands, collectively we will excel and on my part, I will continue to sustain and improve on the already laid foundation and achievements of the late Spiritual Father, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye.
“He had transformed the Church and brought about positive changes, this legacy will be improved upon so as to take the Church to an enviable pedestal.”
To Nigerians, he said: “Keep praying for the Nation for our leaders to get it right. Let us be focused as we approach the new year, themed ‘Good Tidings’, with vigour and zeal to succeed in all our endeavours.
“For the Government, I appreciate that they are trying, but more is still needed especially in improving the various decay in infrastructure, energy and provision of food for the people who are hungry daily.”
