THE BIO SKETCH OF RT. HON. AHMED MOHAMMED
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed representing Ankpa I Constituency, APC is a ranking member of Kogi State House of Assembly. A former member of PDP saw the modest achievements of the 6th Assembly and Governor Yahaya Bello, decided to join the next level train and got re-elected under APC. He scored 13,419 votes to emerge winner for the Ankpa I state constituency.
He is one of the few matured minds in the Kogi State House of Assembly; he is a grass – root politician, who has good cordial relationship with his people. He has created a niche for himself among the rural dwellers, with whom he has all his life identified with. The legislator is well loved, respected and honoured by his people. He is a rare breed politician with unequalled pedigree, high level political relevance, highly disciplined, a great motivator and builder of men.
Rt. Hon.Ahmed Mohammed, a man of great destiny was born on the 14thAugust, 1978. He is a native of Abache in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State. The young Ahmed imbibed the good virtues of hard work and tenacity of his parents who brought him up to be God fearing and to always render selfless service to mankind. Today Hon. Ahmed Mohammed is currently the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and a strong politician representing the good people of Ankpa 1 State Constituency in the House of Assembly. His educational career began at Air Force Primary School, Port-Harcourt from 1985 to 1991. He later proceeded to Igah Community College, Ikeje Okpo in Olamaboro Local Government of Kogi State. In his unquenchable desire for knowledge, he proceeded to Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori where he graduated in the department of Banking and Finance. Riding high on the back of his impressive academic performance while in school and his upright upbringing, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed quickly got his first job with the defunct Universal Trust Bank where he worked as an accountant. He went further to work for Akpos Marine Limited, Port-Harcourt as an accountant later in life he ventured into establishing his own company name Ahmedis Concern Limited, Port-Harcourt.
Rt. Hon. Mohammed sometimes in 2013 or thereabout ventured into politics when he was invited by his people to represent them in the Kogi State House of Assembly under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) his former political party.

Rt. Honourable Mohammed has the following uncommon attributes. He is a man with a humble beginning, a man whom you will like to meet personally, good looking, loving, a trusted friend, reliable and accommodating. His patriotism for his constituency, his unquenchable love for a disciplined life style, his insatiable appetite for challenges, his spirit of perseverance and endurance and his tenacity of purpose, all combined to make him a good leader and representative of his people.
He is incorruptible, always displaying skill, dexterity brisk, competence and he is very humane. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed is a proven achiever with an irresistible charisma and a track record of leadership qualities, transparency,honest and accountability have made many people to see him as their true leader.
Rt. Hon. Mohammed is a unique personality who has a crystal – clear vision for his people. He knows their needs and he works hard to provide those needs even when it is not convenient. He is a bridge – builder. He has always vowed to extirpate ethnic jingoism in the state and he has friends across the country, not minding ethnic or religious difference.

He feels for the less-privileged in the society. He is well bothered with the current situation of youths and women in the country.
It is very important to state that this amiable legislator representing Ankpa1 is an individual who fears God. Despite his tight schedule, he anchors everythinghe does to God who has given him the knowledge, wisdom, strength and grace to carry on.
To many out there, Rt. Hon. Mohammed is a multi – talented distinguished Nigerian with the modest calling in helping people. Many Kogites also see him as very eloquent, brilliant social, courageous, affable, stupendous and prudent.
He is a man full of life, energy and focused the vast experience he has in resource management has aided him to bring the much desired progress and development to his constituency.

THE IMPRESSIVE SCORECARD OF RT. HON. AHMED MOHAMMED
During his 2015 campaign tours of his constituency Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed promised to provide effective representation for the people, create avenue to empower the youths, women sand artisans, encourage entrepreneurship,develop basic social amenities in Ankpa 1 state constituency. Furthermore, he promised to provide employment for graduates, create welfare facilities for the elderly persons and the widows.
Within the last five years as a legislator representing his people, Rt. Hon. Ahmed has achieved landmark successes in all fronts. He has been up and doing at all plenary sittings, constituency stakeholders meetings effective oversight activities as well as responding to the needs of his people.
Through his foundation, “Ahmed Mohammed foundation “Rt. Hon. Ahmed launched a skill acquisition and entrepreneurship scheme to train and empower youths and women in different skills such as tailoring, mechanic ICT/ Computer engineering first set of this programme graduated in 2017 the legislator has continually provide tools and money to start their own micro- businesses.
It is noteworthy to equally state that Rt. Hon. Ahmed invested seriously on water projects for his people drilled boreholes in Enarewo – Abache, Iyaya – Abache, Amoke, Ejinya – Ugbonobi, EmereAte, Enelie, Emanyinwo ,Acharane etc
Meek as a lamb but courageous as a lion in spirit, his consistent and excellent record continued to pave way for him. His uncommon achievements in politics, community development and his love for excellence and discipline endeared him to the populace. At the last count, Rt. Hon. Ahmed has given out several motor cars, scholarship, motorcycles, tricycles, essential drugs, sewing machines and cash to his constituents.
As a man who is known for his vocal and vibrant representation on the floor, he has moved very important motions, among these is the motion calling on the state Government to fix Ankpa Township roads, which is a reality today.
Through his foundation (Ahmed Mohammed Foundation), he has enrolled over two hundred Ankpa sons and Daughters via his scheme “Ahmed Mohammed Skill acquisition and entrepreneurship scheme”, offered scholarship to students in Ankpa LGA from secondary school to University level. He has it on record as the first state legislator to flag-off the biggest water project ever in Nigeria tagged “Operation Water for all”, which has so far, provided water to about fifty (50) communities in Ankpa LGA.
Also as part of his constituency outreach, he has embarked on massive building and rehabilitation of schools, rehabilitate health care facilities and supply equipments/drugs for efficient services to villagers where necessary. As an employer of labour he has employed and empowers over five hundred ANKPA sons and daughters to his Oil and gas, Marine business in Port Harcourt – a gesture which has earned him titles from within and outside Kogi State. He is also being decorated as the Omakoji Onu Ankpa Gbadaligi for his tremendous achievements, commitments and respect for institutions
According to the legendary English writer and poet Williams Shakespeare, in his classical comedy, Twelfth Night, said “Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.” Rt. Honourable Ahmed Mohammed is indeed a born leader.
He is today enjoying second term in office courtesy of the good people of his constituency, and in recognition of his contributions to humanity. Rt. Hon. Ahmed has received many laurels from within and outside Kogi State.

Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed is humility personified, full of uprightness and forthrightness, which are his watch-words, the Deputy Speaker has sacrificed his official status for the general well-being of the Kogi State, is an embodiment of integrity, versatility and a pragmatic welfarist par excellence,
Judging by my personal assessment as a parliamentary reporter of long standing, I can proclaim Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed as a man of courage, forthrightness, highly principled, selfless, visionary politician and enigma with human heart. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has the willingness to enhance the productivity level of the youths by providing working implements that will enable them to fend for themselves in their chosen vocational trades.
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed as a member of Kogi State House of Assembly fought for the welfare of his people and the state at large.
In Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed is not a bench warmer, he equally believes in the principle of Martin Luther King Jr. that: “Morality cannot be legislated, but behaviour can be regulated. The law may not change the heart but it can restrain the heartless”.
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed remains the symbol of the people, highly dynamic, a worthy politician to behold, an astute leader, and a role model.
Speaking as a legislator Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed said he has tried in his little capacity and based on the availability of fund to bring developmental projects to his constituency, that is Ankpa I, since he was elected in 2015. Provision of skills acquisition is one of the areas he felt the people could benefit from.
Similarly too, he facilitated the appointment of many of his constituents to secure jobs within and outside the state. He also provides financial aids such as scholarship to indigent students in secondary schools as well as to students studying professional courses i.e. Medicine, Engineering and Law. The lawmaker also assists primary school pupils in all public schools in his constituency with educational kits.
It is also pertinent to note that he has provided for the installation of multiple head boreholes and rehabilitation of overhead water tanks powered by generating sets in virtually all the wards.
He has in the past released fund to rehabilitate electricity transformers, opening of pathways, construction of drainages and several other projects have been carried out by him in the last five years in his constituency. More importantly, he has sponsored bills and motions on the floor of the Kogi State House of Assembly that have much impact on the people of his constituency and the state in general. These are some of the measures he has taken to improve on the living condition of the people.
There is no doubt about it that he became the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly at a time that witnessed political acrimony, turbulent and mistrust among legislators. But through the divine intervention of God, he was able to join the Speaker to steer the ship of the House from hitting the rock. Peace reigned in the House, mistrust disappeared and they are able to embark on meaningful legislative business. Decorum was restored and he helped to enhance the dignity of the legislators.
His focal point of governance is service to the people. Elected and appointed public servants are expected to offer themselves to serve the people that have asked them to lead them. There is a social contract between the leaders and the led (electorate) which centers on peace, development and the general welfare of the citizens. Anytime short of this is not acceptable. The leaders should continuously strive to improve on the welfare of the electorate and seek for their happiness.
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has received a number of awards and honours within and outside Kogi State courtesies of various organizations that have recognized his little contributions to humanity.
GOV. YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO BEST FIT FOR NIGERIA – RT. HON. AHMED MOHAMMED
The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has called for support from colleagues, stakeholders across the state saying Governor Yahaya Bello is one unique personality with imposing features, strides and achievements. He has within a short time, unite the people of Kogi State and those that share borders with the state.
The legislator made his presentation when the members of Kogi State House of Assembly paid advocacy visit to Niger State to solicit for the support of the house for the candidature of Governor Yahaya Bello as President in 2023.
He said Governor Bello has been a dogged politician, who is firm and resolute about the unity, safety and well-being of Nigerians. He cited that Kogi State is bordered by the states of Nasarawa to the northeast; Benue to the east; Enugu, (with neighbouring communities like the Igbo Eze North which is made up of two towns – Enugu Ezike and Etteh). Anambra, and Delta to the south; Ondo, Ekiti, and Kwara to the west; and Niger to the north. These states have their indigenes living and doing well in Kogi State, and the Governor as a unifier has been able to manage everyone peacefully. He noted that, with the firm conviction, Yahaya Bello has what it takes to secure an all inclusive growth for Nigeria and Nigerians.
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed said the North Central States should speak with one voice now and present Governor Bello as their candidate, because he has sacrificed and contributed immensely for the unity, peace and stability in the democratic government of the country and the APC. His emergence as president will be a new dawn for the youths, women and people of Nigeria.
