The NAKOSS National President, Comrade Rachael M’rola Balogun was this evening a guest on the Grace FM. 95.5fm programme “Campus Gist”.

During the weekly radio programme aimed at bringing tertiary institution students closer to the society, the first female President of the National Association of Kogi State Students, Comrade Rachael Mojirola Balogun spoke on several issues.

On Emergence..

She attributed her emergency to the will of God. Comrade Mojirola also used the opportunity to appreciate the leadership roles of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello whose inclusive style has given women the courage to stand up. She also appreciate the Chief of Staff to the Governor Pharm. Abdukareem Asuku Jamiu, for the mentorship and example to a lot of Youths.
“I thank the SSG to the Government of Kogi State, Dr Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, whose style has directly and indirectly influenced me” she added.

She acknowledged the supports she got from stakeholders and contestants before and after emerging.

The stakeholders comprising of the past leaders have been very supportive and have continued to offer their support. They ensured that the process is very well coordinated and all aspirants agreeing to a consensus in the best interest of the association.
Since the election till now, NAKOSS has remained one with “no victor, no vanquish”.

*On the evacuation of Kogi State Students from Plateau…*

Comrade Mojirola salute the proactiveness of Gov. Yahaya Bello on security issues. An example which was the quick approval to evacuate Kogi State Students from danger. For me, it was a proud moment to be involved in such an important assignment. The evacuation she said was ably led by the SA on Youths and Sport, Hon Jibril Oludare Ahmodu along with SSA Students Affairs, Hon Babangida Onimisi and her office.

*On the Internation Girl Child Day…*

Every 11th October is set aside to celebrate every Girl Child and to also contribute to the significant of this day. She urged parents and the girl child to see this as opportunity to learn.

*On the Federal Government Budget for Education…*

Comrade Mojirola acknowledge that it is poor especially considering the UNESCO declaration of 25% budget funding for Education. A serious investment in Education she believes will cut down on so many of the challenges we are facing as a country, with the 5.6 percent of the budget to education sector, quality education can not be achieved because that is the highest level where the percentage of the workforce is produced. She opined.
