The passing on to the world beyond of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Alhaji Dr Ado Ibrahim has left an irreplaceable void in the history of Kogi State in general and of the Central Senatorial zone in particular. I became close to the Ohinoyi right from the day I assumed duty as Secretary to Kogi State Government in July 2012. He was tremendously excited and pleased that a person from his Senatorial zone accepted being the SSG. He was humility personified and a king who respected the processes and procedures of bureaucracy. I have had the need to seek his advice on some sensitive matters, which he meekly offered with guidance and a fatherly disposition. Easily the most flamboyant, cerebral, and oldest royalty in Kogi during our time in government, he was ever considerate, empathetic, humorous, and always willing to listen. He was a great reservoir of the intimate knowledge and information about most things around him.
He knew his people, Kogi, northern Nigeria, and the history of Nigeria as the back of his hand.He pursued his rights, and of those he governed with passion and finess.
We thank God that he lived to a ripe old age of 95 years.
My heartfelt condolences to the Ebira people, the people of Central Senatorial Zone, Kogi State, and Nigeria.
As we celebrate his life, even with deep regret that he has left us, may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace and God Almighty to give him Aljanatu Firdaus.
Emeritus Professor Olugbemiro Jegede.
Immediate Past Secretary to the Government of Kogi State of Nigeria, 2012-2016.
