The bills include, a bill for a law providing for the establishment of Kogi state university, kabba, and a bill providing for the repeal and reenactment of the Kogi state law on prohibition of kidnapping.
Presenting the lead debate for the Bill providing for the establishment of Kogi state university, kabba, the majority leader, Suleiman Abdurazak, said the bill sought to provide for the legal framework for the educational institution.
He said aside providing education for the teaming youths in the state, the university when established would provide jobs for the youths and contribute to the frontiers knowledge and learning.
Also leading the debate on the bill providing for the repeal and reenactment of the Kogi state law for the prohibition of kidnapping, the majority leader, said the bill sought to improve of the already existing law.
He said the bill also captured the new tactics with attendant punishment for perpetrators.
In the meantime, a bill for a law providing for the Kogi state Honors Award has passed through first reading.
The bill which is an executive bill when passed into law is to recognize and spur individuals and organisations who have distinguished themselves.
