A National Assembly Aspirant for Yagba Federal Constituency, Mr Jeremiah Oladokun has met with representatives of Ex Councilors of Yagba Federal Constituency during his biweekly interractive and sensitization meetings with Stakeholders, he said that he feels strongly about battered economic situation of the constituency.
The near collapse of economic activities ravaging the communities in the area as a result downturn has reduced the Gross Domestic Product of the area to the bearest minimum , thereby sliding many into poverty.
He noted with nostalgic feelings how Yagba Federal Constituency was the industrial hub of Okun land in the 80’s through to the 90’s before the downward economic slide. Where is Polar Industries? Where is Boja Plastic Industries, Where is Mopa Breweries today? Why were they not sustainable? He asked.
While appealing to the stakeholders to look critically into the matter with a problem solving mindset, the Itakete Isao born Technocrat informed them that he has the capacity to turn around the situation. He said one of his mission was to restore back the economic greatness of Yagba Federal Constituency by ensuring that it is returned back to that enviable status of being the Industrial Hub of Okun land in the nearest future. “Yagba is blessed with natural endownment to boost economic growth,the opportunities of Omi dam and the rich soil for farming must be tapped to it’s optimum to catalyse Yagba Economic growth” he noted.
On his strategies to achieve that, he said “I have the right connections and contacts to attract sustainable investments to drive the restoration process, ignorance is the greatest impediment to our economic development and as a consultant to Federal Government on Economic Sustainability Plan to stimulate and diversify the economy and create employment, I am determined to expose the people to stream of opportunities available and capture as many beneficiaries as possible within Yagba Federal Constituency to assist them in setting up new businesses, energize the existing ones and sustain economic growth of the entire area”
He further noted while reeling out details of his activities that he has assisted not less than 700 individuals and business owners to access the FG covid 19 Economic Stimulus packages within Yagba Federal Constituency and more are on the way. He stressed the need for the beneficiaries to utilize the funds effectively and prayed for their success. He also outlined other sources of government interventions programmes spanning accross sectors of the economy which he will deploy respectively.
While thanking the stakeholders for honoring his invitation to interract with him and afford him the opportunity to disclose his mission for Yagba Federal Constituencg, Dotun appealed to them as leaders and opinion moulders in their various wards to critically consider his good intentions and help him spread his message to their people back home.
The Ex Councilors were unanimous in their response to his request as they promised to take the information back home to the grassroots for proper dissemination to the people while also praying for a successful outing for the contestant.
