Yuletide: We Assure You of Adequate Security, Ijumu Security Taskforce Guarantee
The Chairman of Ijumu Security Taskforce, Chief Kayode Olorunmaiye has assured the people of the Local Government of adequate security before, during and after the Yuletide period.
The Taskforce was Inaugurated recently by the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Taofiq Isa to provide a Proactive policing and effective crime management.
The Chairman of the Taskforce, Chief Olorunmaiye, a retired Police ASP in a statement made available to Newsmen assur d Ijumu sons and daughters both at home and Diaspora of their safety in the festive season.
According to him, a new Security architecture that will ensure enhanced Community policing has been introduced, saying there’s no cause for alarm.
“In line with the administrative of Proactive policing and effective crime management, the Executive Chairman ljumu LGA, Hon Taofek recently at the LGA Secretariat lyara, inaugurated the ljumu Security Task Force under the Chairmanship of Chief Kayode Olorunmaiye JP, a retired senior Police officer and also current National President Ijumu Development Union (IDU).”
Other members of the Tasks Force are: DPO Iyara and Aiyetoro Divisions, Director DSS lyara, Commandant NSCDC lyara, Commandant Nigeria immigration lyara, SA Security Ijumu LGA, DOS ljumu LGA, Commander JTF ljumu, Rep. of the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Head hunter ljumu LGA, One representative from ljumu Arin, ljumu Oke and ljumu Gbede District each.”
According to the Taskforce Chairman, similar Security architecture has been made at the community level under the monitoring and close supervision of the Central Body in collaboration with Traditional rulers.
He explained that “the incident of Kidnapping, Banditry & Armed Robbery among others have remained the most pervasive, intractable & Virulent violent crimes in Nigeria and its attendant presence in ljumuland.”
“In recognition of the enormity of the security challenges in ljumuland and its environs, the ljumu Security Task Force made critical appraisals and x- ray the present insecurity happenings in the ljumu. And therefore designed a grassroot proactive community policing and crime management in synergy with the security agencies in ljumu.”
“Consequently , the ljumu LGA Executive Chairman, Aih Taofiq lsa provided two patrols vehicles with the inscription ” ljumu Hunter Vehicle” and three motorcycles for operational use by the 26 members of the newly constituted agile local hunters, made up of selected 8 local hunters each from Ijumu Arin and ljumu Oke and 10 from ljumu Gbede.”
“The new local hunters outfit is code named ” ljumu Strike Force” and are deployed to provide adequate and dedicated safety and security to life and property before, during and after the yelutide and new year festivities in ljumuland.
He added that the Hunters Outfit upon Inauguration by the Council Chairman has been deployed to ljumu roads as they are to work in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, ljumu Vigilante and other security stakeholders.
