The Kogi Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for his numerous achievements and unwavering commitment to democratic values and economic growth.
Anyebe gave the commendation on Wednesday at a Democracy day program organised by his Ministry at Government House Lokoja, tagged: “Renewed Hope Agenda”.
“We applaud the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, haven demonstrated unwavering commitment to democratic values and economic growth.
“Under his leadership, Nigeria has witnessed significant progress in infrastructure development; which includes the expansion of major highways, modernization of rail networks, and enhancement of airports.
“His administration’s efforts to boost economic growth, feasible projections for reduction of the country’s unemployment rate, and promotion of social justice, are laudable.
“All these and many more achieved in a period slightly above a year in office, are testaments to his vision for a prosperous Nigeria,” Anyebe said.
Anyebe further commended Gov. Ahmed Ododo for working tirelessly to consolidate the achievements of the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
He said: “In Kogi State, we are proud of the achievements of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has worked tirelessly to consolidate the achievements of his predecessor.
“Our governor is developing our state and improving the lives of our people.
“His administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, water resources management, security, and youth empowerment have been remarkable”.
The commissioner promised his commitment to empowering Kogi youths and harnessing their energies for a brighter future.
“We shall work together to build a State, and a nation that is just, equitable, and prosperous for all.
“AS we celebrate our diversity, we must continue to promote peace and unity, and to demand good governance from our leaders.
“We are the future of this great nation, and together, we can achieve greatness,” Anyebe said.
Also speaking, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, emphasised the need to celebrate President Tinubu’s unprecedented achievements and consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.
Fanwo reaffirmed Kogi State Government’s commitment and unwavering support for the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“This year’s democracy day celebration is iconic because this is the first time in the history of our nation, we are having an activist and a democrat as President who fought relentlessly for the realization the nation’s democracy from the military.
“I want other States to follow the template of Kogi State under the leadership of Gov.Ahmed Usman Ododo; we are fully behind Mr President.
“Gov Ahmed Ododo and the entire people of Kogi State is supporting all the reforms, programmes and developmental policies of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
“We, therefore implored all our youths and the entire Nigerians to support Mr President to embrace unity and reforms. Though it is always difficult at the beginning but there is light at the end of the tunnel,” Fanwo said.
He stressed that the Nigeria’s economy was in shambles and in comatose when Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership, assuring that the President’s reforms had started yielding positive results.
He commended the President for his laudable reforms and infrastructural development in all sectors of the economy including security, agriculture, education, youth and women empowerment, among others.
“Our Governor is fully and solidly behind Mr President and by extension the entire people of Kogi, to implement all his programmes and policies in Kogi State”, Fanwo said.
On his part, Oladele John-Nihi, the Special Adviser to Kogi Governor on Youths and Students’ Matters, commended President Tinubu for taken remarkable steps to strengthen democracy and improve the lives of Nigerians.
“In Kogi, we have witnessed the positive impacts of President Tinubu’s leadership, his support has been instrumental to our governor’s achievements.
“This include the successful rescue of kidnapped Kogi students and various infrastructural development and empowerment programmes for youths and students of Kogi State, among others,” John-Nihi said.
Other stakeholders at the event include: the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Association of Kogi State Student (NAKOSS), among others.
